Graphic Communications

graphic CommunicationsBring Your Passion for Design to Life

In today’s fast-paced, media-driven culture, graphic communications is becoming our go-to medium when it comes to communicating with each other. Whether in business, education, entertainment, government or the non-profit world, graphic communications is utilized in important, impactful ways. As a student in the Graphic Communications program at South Central College, we’ll help you develop your skills to express your passion, your perspective and your ultimate potential.

The SCC Graphic Communications program features a focused curriculum taught by talented, experienced instructors that will expertly guide you as you prepare to share your talent and training. You will have the opportunity to learn both the graphic design element and the print production side of the industry responsible for creating magazines and newspapers, advertising, book printing, web design and digital publishing.

In addition to learning the essential elements of graphic design utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite Design Premium software, the industry standard for professional graphic designers and printers, you’ll gain experience and build proficiency in an actual print production setting. The Print Center at SCC has updated equipment that allows you to gain familiarity with print machinery utilized in the professional print industry.

Working within the framework of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities’ transfer curriculum, if you decide you would like to continue your education later, many of the credits earned at South Central College can be transferred to a four-year college or university.

HallieJacobs“The thing I liked most about the Graphic Communications program at South Central was the small class sizes. With classes being small, the teachers were able to work one-on-one with students and that made learning the programs and printers inside and out so much easier.”
